V.S. working with me

My portraits blend the precision of photography with the soul of fine art—a modern take on traditional oil painting.

Each piece begins with one or more reference images and is then painted digitally, stroke by stroke, using professional tools. I then bring the portrait to life on canvas with oils, glazes, and texture for a rich, timeless finish.

The result is more than a likeness—it’s a legacy.

and TIME

We’ll begin by getting to know each other. I want to understand who you are, what lights you up, and where you feel most at home—whether that’s a quiet garden, a breezy beach, or your favorite corner café. That inspiration shapes your portrait.

Next, I’ll photograph you from multiple angles—either in my studio, your location, or I can work from photos you provide if you're farther away.

From there, I create your portrait digitally, painting it stroke by stroke with a stylus and tablet. Once the concept feels just right, and you love it,  I bring it to life on canvas using oils and glazes by hand. The full process typically takes 6–12 weeks.

Every portrait I create is about honoring your strength, beauty, and story. As one client put it: “Kathy, you capture the beauty in everyone who touches your heart.”
