What is the consultation like? Is it high-pressure?
Not at all. Our first call is just a conversation. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other and see if my portrait style resonates with you. If you feel that one of my pieces would bring you joy—and light up a space in your home or office—I’d be honored to work with you.
By the end of the call, you’ll have a clear understanding of my process, pricing, and timeline so you can decide if it’s the right fit. No pressure—just possibilities.
What is the process, and how long does it take?
Once you’ve decided to move forward, we’ll talk through your inspiration. Where do you feel most alive—a garden, a beach, a café? What colors do you love? What feeling do you want the portrait to express?
From there, you’ll send me some photos to work from, and I’ll guide you every step of the way. Within 2–3 weeks, I’ll share a digital concept for your approval. Once you love it, I’ll create your portrait at full size on my computer, have it printed on canvas with archival inks, and then finish it by hand with traditional oils and texture.
From start to finish, the process takes about 6–8 weeks.
Do I have to attend an in-person sitting?
Nope! Everything can be done remotely. I work from photographs, and I’ll let you know exactly what I need. If we need a few more shots along the way, I’ll guide you so we capture just the right look.
What makes this portrait different from a traditional oil painting or painted-over photo?
My portraits offer the best of both worlds. Like photo-based digital art, you get a strong likeness. Like traditional oil painting, you get mood, depth, and artistry. What sets mine apart is the transformation: I don’t just enhance a photo—I reimagine it. Through expressive brushwork, dramatic lighting, and vibrant color, I create a portrait that looks like you and lives like art.
What does “mixed media” mean?
Mixed media simply means blending techniques. I start with your photograph, then digitally paint your setting, clothing, and light. This gets printed on canvas using archival inks, mounted for durability, and then hand-finished with oil paints and texture. The result? A unique fusion of realism and imagination.
Do I need professional photos or a perfect outfit?
Not at all. I’ll walk you through how to take great photos—even a simple phone selfie can work beautifully. As for clothing, that’s part of the magic—I create it for you. Whether it’s something timeless, romantic, bold, or ethereal, the wardrobe is often what makes the portrait feel truly iconic.
I’m intrigued… but what if I don’t love how I look in the portrait?
That’s a very common concern—and I’ve got you. I work from photos, so the likeness is there, and we’ll talk about how you want to feel in the painting. Want to soften a few lines or shed a few pounds? No problem.
Before I begin, I’ll share my creative vision with you so we’re aligned. Then, I’ll create a small-scale version of your portrait for your approval before painting the full piece.
What if I don’t like it?
You won’t hurt my feelings—I want you to love it. My goal is for your portrait to light you up every time you see it. If we’re working together, it’s because my style speaks to you… but even so, nothing ships until you're thrilled.
Can you take a few pounds or wrinkles off?
Absolutely. My portraits are meant to celebrate you at your most radiant. We’ll enhance what you already love about yourself—and soften the rest, with artistry and intention.
How does payment work?
A 50% deposit secures your commission. The balance is due once you’ve approved the sample portrait. If needed, I’m happy to create a payment plan that works with your budget.
How long will the portrait last?
The canvas and archival inks I use are rated for over 200 years. This is an heirloom-quality piece designed to be passed down for generations.
What is the investment, and what’s included? Are there any hidden fees?
Portraits are priced by size. Most of my clients choose a 16x24", 20x30", or 24x36"—sizes that best complement the detail and impact of my work. Smaller and larger sizes are available. A small portrait begins at $2900 and goes up from there depending on the size that works for you and your space.
Framing is not included in the portrait price, as tastes vary widely. I’m happy to handle framing for you, working within your style and budget. Just send me a few photos of your space and existing frames, and I’ll suggest options that fit beautifully. Or, if you prefer, you can frame the piece on your own.
Shipping within the U.S. is included, whether framed or unframed. I use UPS and pack each piece with care to ensure it arrives safely.
Can I commission a portrait as a gift?
Absolutely. These portraits make deeply meaningful gifts for mothers, wives, daughters, and women who deserve to be celebrated. Because I work from photographs, the process is simple—even if it’s a surprise. We’ll collaborate to ensure the final piece is personal, powerful, and unforgettable.

I'm intrigued by the concept, but I'm concerned about how I'll look in the final portrait. No worries here. First off, I’m working from your photos (face wise and body shape). In our conversations I will know if you want me to take off a few pounds and/or take off a few years. I will also share my inspiration with you before I even start so we are on the same page. Once we agree on a vision, I’ll create a mini painting for your approval before I finish painting it to scale.
What if I don’t like it? I wouldn’t dream of you having a portrait on your wall that did not fill your heart with joy. If you don’t like my style, we probably wouldn’t have started working together in the first place! Regardless, the painting won’t ship until you are excited to receive it.
Can you take a few pounds off and a few wrinkles off?! Of course.
Where do your clients display their portraits?
Some hang their portrait in a living room or entryway, where it becomes an instant conversation piece. Others prefer a more intimate setting—like a bedroom, hallway, or private office. Wherever it’s displayed, my clients often tell me that the portrait becomes a daily reminder of their strength, their beauty, and everything they’ve accomplished. It’s not just art—it’s affirmation.
Can I include more than one person in the portrait?
My portraits are created to honor one woman at a time. I believe in celebrating the individual—her story, her energy, her essence. That singular focus is what makes these legacy pieces so powerful.
I’m a private person. Will my portrait be shared publicly?
Never without your permission. I deeply respect your privacy. If you prefer your portrait to remain completely private, it absolutely will. I always seek approval before sharing any image on my website or social media.
Do you guarantee I’ll love the portrait?
Yes—because you’ll approve the concept before I paint the final version. There’s no guesswork. My goal is not just to meet your expectations, but to exceed them.
